Samba History
Every member of Brazilian society looks forward to the rhythmic mystical dancing or samba– a sort of folk dance or folk samba. Even though the samba's history dates back to the time of slavery in the 1800s, this ancient dance ritual has emerged into an international cultural phenomenon and has migrated to the United States where it became popular in the early part of the 20th century. An example of this is the Bossa Nova which became popular in the late 50s. There are many variations to the dance, and its variances still continues to grow as there seems to be no set patterns. Although much of the original dance tradition has remained with the samba dance traditions of today, the heart of the samba dance – it's energetic, fast and fluid like motion will forever be beautiful to watch and exhilarating to perform!
